HAPPY NATIONAL LIPSTICK DAY! In honor of the day I thought I’d slide through with the newness in my little collection. Red lips have been my jam for 10 years now. Before that I was strictly a nude or pink gal! I had been on the quest for the perfect red until Rihanna blessed us with Stunna Lip Paint in Uncensored by Fenty Beauty. Uncensored is my holy grail red lip but I’ve got one that is pretty close to perfect. Introducing the Laura Mercier Caviar Smoothing Lipstick!

The Laura Mercier Caviar Smoothing lipstick is pretty good! The color Scarlet Velvet is absolutely gorgeous! I love a bright blue red so this shade is perfect for me. Besides the color, oddly, I love the scent of this lipstick! I think I love it because it smells just like Zara’s Rose Gourmand perfume. A much softer version obviously.

It’s claims are said to be “A hydrating, matte lipstick that visibly smooths, plumps, and blurs lips for 16-hour comfortable wear and velvety, high-impact color in a single swipe.” The Caviar Smoothing Lipstick applies very easy and I don’t have to swipe too many times to get great color payoff.  They also say it “provides 16-hours of hydrating, comfortable wear and delivers high-impact, full-coverage color that stays true without the need for touch-ups.” I wouldn’t say all that! Honestly, my only con is that it is NOT smudge and transfer proof which it claims but that is not a deal breaker for me! I think it’s definitely worth a try on! 💋💋💋
