Greetings!
Today I come to you with an extremely fun event I attended!! Mike’s Hard Lemonade Drink on The Bright Side set a up fun pop-up experience in Downtown LA in collaboration with the DTLA Film Festival. Attendees were able to immerse themselves in joyful activities as a part of their “Drink on Bright Side” campaign!
The event Director (at least I think that’s her title) explained that all of the activities were created through scientific statistics that indicated that each of these activities brought people more joy!
The pop up playground was held in DTLA at the Hudson Loft. Our I.D’s were checked to ensure we were of age since this was a 21+ event, we gave them our $1, and got inside this tiny elevator that I was apprehensive to get in because I don’t like crowded elevators! LOL! 4 of us was enough and they agreed!
Let’s GO!
Once we were let in we were presented with a Bright Side map and 2 drink tickets for the bar (which was the cutest, you’ll see!). I lost my Bright Side map but check out this video to see it on a larger scale.
When you entered there was a dope edible cotton candy entrance of some sort. Was I eating off of it? NOPE! But good thing there was a lady making fresh batches of cotton candy so I quickly scooped one up!
There were 7 stations we could engage in and Get happy so we did just that!
Going by the Bright Side Map you had:
Yellow Eats
They had the tastiest hor d’oeuvres we could enjoy from mini bacon wrapped hot dogs, quesadillas, mac n cheese, to MY favorite: CHICKEN AND WAFFLES! Was it the best? Naw. But it did the trick and I ate a few!
Caraoke
I’m so mad my picture cam out blurry! THEY HAD SOME JAMS!
Unfortunately Amber and I weren’t able to do CARAOKE because we got in line too late and the comedy show was about to start. WHOMP!
Spread The Love
Just call me Elmira. Please google her if you don’t get it . LOL!
Map Darts
Amber captured me on video playing Map Darts and Failing miserably but deleted it because she thought I could get another turn to do it over and umm no sooooooo. At this station if you popped a balloon on the map you either got a prize or some cute quote. Amber got a quote.
Adult Playground
These are the balls I could’ve jumped in but chose not to. At first I didn’t because I had on a dress then later on towards the end of the evening I wanted to but they cut it off because the event stopped at 9! So much for that.
Happiest Hour
What Laughter Tastes Like
An area to sit with ping pong tables nearby and a grass photo wall to take pictures by which was cool. And there was an Infinity room as well as a rainbow for influencers. Why only influencers? I’m not entirely sure but apparently there was a list. Amber managed to get us up in there! There were other spaces as well to submit a joke via snapchat, and chill with the pugs. Great Event over all!!! I had a blast.
